Colds and flu affect 15 million people each year in the UK. Often people make unnecessary trips to their GP when they should be resting at home. However, flu can be a serious condition for some people, so it’s important that vulnerable groups protect themselves from infection through vaccination. That’s the message that the Shropshire and Telford Primary Care Trusts wanted to get out and it’s why they came to Positive Advertising for a solution.
I’m a flu fighter. Are you?
A surprisingly large section of the public remains unaware that free flu jabs are available from GP’s surgeries. Most people realise that flu can be dangerous for pregnant women and the over 65s, but few are aware that there is a programme for everyone who might be at risk. Suffers from serious heart, kidney or liver disease, asthma and lung disease, diabetes or a damaged immune system, for instance, are eligible for a free jab.
Our task was to produce a series of A4 and A3 posters for surgeries, libraries, hospitals and waiting rooms. The aim was to publicise the free service and encourage people to ‘Join the Flu Fighters’, by contacting their GP practice to find out which conditions qualify for a FREE flu jab and make an appointment.
We are now working on a special Winter Healthcare booklet for the same client. Watch this space for the finished work.
